چکیده
Abstract The adjusted Rand index (ARI) is commonly used in cluster analysis to measure the degree of agreement between two data partitions. Since its introduction, exploring situations extreme and disagreement under different circumstances has been a subject interest, order achieve better understanding this index. Here, an explicit formula for lowest possible value ARI clusterings given sizes shown, moreover specific pair achieving such bound provided.

The quantit...
متن کاملDiameter Two Graphs of Minimum Order with Given Degree Set
The degree set of a graph is the set of its degrees. Kapoor et al. [Degree sets for graphs, Fund. Math. 95 (1977) 189-194] proved that for every set of positive integers, there exists a graph of diameter at most two and radius one with that degree set. Furthermore, the minimum order of such a graph is determined. A graph is 2-self- centered if its radius and diameter are two. In this paper for ...
متن کاملGeneralized Adjusted Rand Indices for cluster ensembles
In this paper, Adjusted Rand Index (ARI) is generalized to two new measures based on matrix comparison: (i) Adjusted Rand Index between a similarity matrix and a cluster partition (ARImp), to evaluate the consistency of a set of clustering solutions with their corresponding consensus matrix in a cluster ensemble, and (ii) Adjusted Rand Index between similarity matrices (ARImm), to evaluate the ...
متن کاملOn the Use of the Adjusted Rand Index as a Metric for Evaluating Supervised Classification
The Adjusted Rand Index (ARI) is frequently used in cluster validation since it is a measure of agreement between two partitions: one given by the clustering process and the other defined by external criteria. In this paper we investigate the usability of this clustering validation measure in supervised classification problems by two different approaches: as a performance measure and in feature...
